A Scientist Says Humans Are Rapidly Approaching Singularity—and Plausible Immortality

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, life extension, nanotechnology, Ray Kurzweil, robotics/AI, singularity

For over five decades, futurist Raymond Kurzweil has shown a propensity for understanding how computers can change our world. Now he’s ready to anoint nanorobots as the key to allowing humans to transcend life’s ~120-year threshold.

As he wrote—both in the upcoming The Singularity is Nearer book (set for release on June 25) and in an essay published in Wired —the merging of biotechnology with artificial intelligence will lead to nanotechnology helping “overcome the limitations of our biological organs altogether.”

As our bodies accumulate errors when cells reproduce over and over, it invites damage. That damage can get repaired quickly by young bodies, but less so when age piles up.

Brian Greene — What Was There Before The Big Bang?

Posted by in categories: cosmology, evolution, information science, mathematics, quantum physics, singularity

The American theoretical physicist, Brian Greene explains various hypotheses about the causation of the big bang. Brian Greene is an excellent science communicator and he makes complex cosmological concepts more easy to understand.

The Big Bang explains the evolution of the universe from a starting density and temperature that is currently well beyond humanity’s capability to replicate. Thus the most extreme conditions and earliest times of the universe are speculative and any explanation for what caused the big bang should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless that shouldn’t stop us to ask questions like what was there before the big bang.

Tyler Goldstein’s Theory of Everyone: Sentient Singularity

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, singularity

Dive into the intriguing world of Sentient Singularity Theory, a groundbreaking framework that seeks to explain the interconnected nature of consciousness, cosmology, and metaphysics. Created by Tyler Goldstein, this theory posits that every particle and atom in the universe is a conscious participant in the grand dance of existence. Discover how the universe is viewed not just as a mechanical construct but as a living organism, where space, time, matter, and force emerge from the interactions of sentient beings. Join us as we explore the Four Primary Perspectives, the concept of infinite-oneness, and the idea of a self-simulating universe. Through this journey, we’ll challenge conventional understandings and delve deep into the philosophical and metaphysical implications of a Theory of Everyone. Don’t miss this thought-provoking exploration into the very fabric of reality.

There used to be the concept of a “singularity”. The idea was that computers would become smarter than humans and start to replace them. Even the idea that humanity would be substituted by silicon-based computing machines (robots) was suggested. Against that two years ago we set the concept of “The convergence”. This assumes that biological and silicon-based computation would merge in the sense of better control over biological processes like diseases and longevity. It is essentially a deeply humanistic perspective, in spite of being futuristic, and not taking misuses actively into account.
