Elon Musk reportedly demanded cameras over radar in self-driving cars because human eyes don’t rely on radar

Posted by in categories: biological, Elon Musk, robotics/AI

I think his purpose in doing this is to prioritize full self driving over partial self driving features.

“Humans drive with eyes and biological neural nets,” Musk said in October. “So [it] makes sense that cameras and silicon neural nets are [the] only way to achieve generalized solution to self-driving.”

Moreover, he’s reportedly implementing that philosophy at Tesla.

Elon Musk takes a dig at Web 3.0 and calls it “BS”

Posted by in categories: education, Elon Musk, evolution, finance, health, internet, space

The idea of Web 3.0 has been disappointing for Elon Musk and he has referred to it as BS. The reasons are unclear but might be soon unveiled.

TL;DR Breakdown.

Web 2.0 has ensured that the informational needs are fulfilled and has also opened ways for education, finance, banking, health, and other domains. As all these are integrated into a new space, we have the opportunity to see the evolution of the web.

Why men are so into space (and why that sucks for women)

Posted by in categories: alien life, Elon Musk

“THE MORE WE TRY TO FORCE EQUALITY, THE MORE WE’RE CREATING A DIVIDE.”

Amy Shira Teitel

And it was male-helmed mega-companies that spurred this surge in space travel. In July, Richard Branson launched himself into suborbital flight on a Virgin Galactic spacecraft. A week later, Jeff Bezos followed suit on a Blue Origin rocket. Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched the first all-civilian space flight in mid-September. Then, Bezos brought sci-fi to life by sending Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, on a suborbital flight in October.

‘If Human, Kill’: Video Warns Of Need For Legal Controls On Killer Robots

Posted by in categories: drones, Elon Musk, law, military, robotics/AI, terrorism

A new video released by nonprofit The Future of Life Institute (FLI) highlights the risks posed by autonomous weapons or ‘killer robots’ – and the steps we can take to prevent them from being used. It even has Elon Musk scared.

Its original Slaughterbots video, released in 2017, was a short Black Mirror-style narrative showing how small quadcopters equipped with artificial intelligence and explosive warheads could become weapons of mass destruction. Initially developed for the military, the Slaughterbots end up being used by terrorists and criminals. As Professor Stuart Russell points out at the end of the video, all the technologies depicted already existed, but had not been put together.

Starship engine ‘crisis’ poses possible bankruptcy risk for SpaceX, Elon Musk says: report

Posted by in categories: Elon Musk, space travel

Elon Musk thinks SpaceX needs to ramp up production of its next-generation Raptor engine soon or face potentially dire consequences, according to media reports.

Raptors will power Starship, the huge, fully reusable vehicle that SpaceX is developing to take people and cargo to the moon, Mars and other distant destinations. Each Starship will need a lot of Raptors — 33 for the giant first-stage booster, called Super Heavy, and six for the upper-stage spacecraft, known as Starship.

This Scientist has Beaten Elon Musk’s Neuralink

Posted by in categories: Elon Musk, robotics/AI

Elon Musk’s Brain Computer Interface company Neuralink has a new competitor which has already done experiments and seen results in merging Humans with Artificial Intelligence through advanced brain implants. The study has been performed much earlier than what the Neuralink Update promised back in 2021. Neuralink’s Human Trials haven’t started yet and their competition is slowly moving ahead of them towards future technology.
