Dr. Joe Purita

Joe Purita, MD is the Chief Medical Officer at PUR-FORM and at PuRxCell. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and one of the world’s experts in Orthopedic Regenerative Medicine. He is a pioneer in using Regenerative Stem Cell and Platelet Rich Plasma therapy for orthopedic conditions.

He has been at PuRxCell since 2006, a company designed to license protocols to the regenerative medicine physician. These protocols are based on Joe’s over 35 years of experience as a practicing orthopedic surgeon well versed in most aspects of orthopedics including sports medicine and joint replacement.

The protocols are designed to save physicians money while at the same time offering them cutting-edge ideas in regenerative medicine.

In 2007, he became the Chief Medical Officer at PUR-FORM, the Institute of Regenerative Medicine. It is a comprehensive facility for regenerative medicine, anti-aging techniques, therapies, and overall health optimization. He also works at the Institute of Regenerative Medicine as an instructor, mentor, and proctor of other surgeons in the use of lasers in arthroscopic and orthopedic surgery at many American hospitals. The Institute has treated some of the most prominent professional athletes from all major sports in both the U.S. and abroad.

Alongside regenerative medicine treatments, Joe founded IV Labs. IV infusion therapy fits naturally to help his patients recover from everything from major surgery to a common cold. He is constantly refreshing the IV labs protocols to follow the most modern science.

He is a frequent national and international lecturer to other physicians, contributes to scientific publications, and treats professional athletes. He is the first President of the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine and the American Board of Regenerative Medicine. He also offers an online educational model at the Regenerative Medicine Training Institute.

He has also published in the United States and abroad. These publications include chapters in the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine Volumes XII, XIV, XV, and XVI. He has also published in the Korean Stem Cell Society Journal and is an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of the Association of Stem Cell and Tissue Regeneration.

Joe, as a successful orthopedic regenerative scientist with 40 years of experience, secured many prestigious awards for his noteworthy contribution to stem cell science. He has written multiple articles for various medical journals in the U.S. and delivered numerous lectures in scientific conferences, and medical seminars held worldwide.

Over the last 16 years, Joe has treated over 10,000 patients with PRP and stem cell procedures. In that time and through many collaborations with other experts in the field, Joe has developed highly unique and advanced treatment protocols, procedures, and products that have advanced his practice far beyond others in the field. He is a member of the International Society for Stem Cell Application.

Joe earned his M.D. in 1976 and his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Medicine in 1972 from the Georgetown University Medical School in the Cayman Islands. He served his surgical internship at the University of Florida Medical Center between 1976 and 1977.

From 1977 to 1981, Joe did his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he served as the Chief Administrative Resident. Following the completion of his residency, Joe joined the Boca Raton Orthopedic Group (BROG) in 1981.

Joe is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the American College of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Board of Pain Management, and the American Board of Regenerative Medicine.

He is a Founding Member of the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine and Member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging, American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Palm Beach Medical Society, Broward County Medical Society, Palm Beach Orthopedic Society, Florida Medical Association, International Cartilage Repair Society, and the American Academy of Pain Management.

He is also a Fellowship Member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgery, and the American Academy of Pain Management, and is Board Certified in Anti-Aging Medicine.

Joe was named one of U.S. News & World Report’s “Top Doctors” by the physicians at Doximity, a U.S. healthcare professional network with over 1 million members.

Joe was also a Missionary and Volunteer at the Caridad Center Free Medical Clinic between 2005 and 2009. In 2010, following the Haiti earthquake, Joe provided orthopedic surgery services to earthquake survivors.
