Rohit Talwar, MBA

Rohit Talwar, MBA is the CEO, Owner, and Founder at Fast Future. He is Author, Foresight Researcher, Strategic Adviser, Futurist, and Award-Winning Speaker. Rohit inspires and educates with his unique ‘how to’ messages. He was profiled as one of the top 10 global futurists by the Independent Newspaper.

Rohit leads Fast Future Publishing — delivering a series of multi-contributor books and reports exploring the emerging future. He is the coauthor of Designing Your Future, lead editor and a contributing author for The Future of Business, and editor of Technology vs. Humanity. He is also coeditor and contributor for A Very Human Future — Enriching Humanity in a Digitized World, Beyond Genuine Stupidity — Ensuring AI Serves Humanity, The Future Reinvented — Reimagining Life, Society, and Business, and The Opportunity at the Edge — Change, Challenge, and Transformation on the Path to 2025. He is also working on two forthcoming books: 50:50 — Scenarios for the Next 50 Years and The Future of AI — Pathways to Artificial General Intelligence, providing a deep insight into his futurist ideas.

After the pandemic struck the world in 2020, Rohit used his expertise and advised on how to respond to the COVID-19 disruption, prepare for a range of possible future scenarios, and develop greater resilience and anticipatory capabilities in our lives, our organizations, and our countries.

Rohit reached out to future thinkers to share their views on ‘how we might navigate through and beyond the pandemic’. He received 115 submissions and has split the best of them across two books and published the first book Aftershocks and Opportunities – Scenarios for a Post-Pandemic Future published on June 1, 2020. It draws on contributions from 25 thought leaders around the world to explore the emerging possibilities and risks and the resulting critical actions required to navigate our way out of the current health crisis and economic disruption.

Rohit works with corporations, governments, investors, associations, business schools, and NGOs to help them anticipate, prepare for, and create the future. He has done a wide range of foresight research studies for clients as diverse as the UK Government, Heathrow Airport, Amadeus, and the European Commission. Including Mastercard, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Financial Times, Microsoft, Allen & Overy, and Ernst & Young.

For the UK government, Rohit has completed the largest Horizon Scanning and Futures Programme in Europe, and he has completed the UK MoD’s major study on Strategic Trends 2030, and the design and facilitation of an Accelerated Scenario Learning program for a global pharmaceutical company.

A specialist on consultancy in future trends, Rohit’s interest is on the following topics; Aftershocks and Opportunities, Digital Transformation, Business and Leadership, Innovation and Disruption, The Future of AI, Universal Basic Income, and helping clients respond to the rise of Asia. He is also writing a book on China’s impact on 21st century global businesses.

In January 2006, Rohit was profiled as one of the top 10 global futurists by the UK’s Independent Newspaper.

In October 2005, Rohit’s keynote address on the Future of Travel received the prestigious stickiest guru award after being voted best speaker at Asia’s largest travel conference.

Rohit earned his Master of Business Administration from London Business School in 1992. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Electronics and Computer Science in 1984 from University of Keele.

After his BA, Rohit joined British Telecom for two years as Research Consultant on Artificial Intelligence research and development. He continued as Senior Consultant for Anderson Consulting until 1989.

Between 1989 and 1993, Rohit was Business Development Director at BMS Bossard, a consulting company to major corporations and governments on strategy, re-engineering, transformation, and change.

In 1993, he became the CEO at the Centre for Business Transformation, where he stayed until 1999, when he founded his Consulting company Fast Futures.

Briefly for a year, Rohit was the Joint CEO at the Global Futures and Foresight, a think tank inspiring and enabling organisations to challenge their thinking and pursue future opportunities.

Between 2006 and 2017, he was the CEO at Fast Future Ventures, a special projects business. They assisted Chinese and Singaporean entrepreneurs to develop and grow their businesses.

As well, Rohit was the Joint CEO at Fast Future Solutions, working on public surveys, single client studies, and multi-client research to provide critical futures insight to help address key strategic questions.
