Rob Caldera, MSc

Rob Caldera, MSc is the principal owner and manager of Future|Shift Consulting, a consulting practice helping organizations anticipate and navigate disruptive change, enabling them to make the transformational shifts needed in this ever-increasing accelerated age and prepare for the Future of Work.

Since 2016 when it was founded, Future|Shift Consulting provides its clients a path to becoming more adaptive, responsive, and change-ready organizations by applying strategic foresight, and helping you to rethink and implement your approach to change management.

Prior to forming the business, Rob worked within the corporate world as a change agent for initiatives ranging from adoption of new technology systems, business processes, and policies to organizational restructurings and people-development efforts.

Between 2014 and 2016, Rob was the Director of Communications and Change Management at Pearson Education. He led a small Change Management & Communications team in support of the Global Content Solutions (GCS) and Higher Education organizations in their efforts to unify fragmented processes and systems under a common global framework.

Before 2014, Rob was at PricewaterhouseCoopers for more than 7 years. He was a Communications Manager on subjects ranging from Risk Management, Marketing and Sales, and Knowledge Service driving the global communications strategy for the launch and adoption of a social networking and collaboration platform Spark to over 180,000 employees in 157 countries.

Rob earned his Master’s Degree of Science in Management from theStevens Institute of Technology in 1997. This was a management degree with a specialization in Technology Management featuring an MBA-like curriculum with a focus on how technology must be integrated into business strategy for success.

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1991, from Hofstra University. Rob specialized in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.

Rob started his career as Project Engineer at Urbitran Associates. After three years, he moved his focus from engineering to marketing and became Marketing Coordinator. In his final year at the company, after earning his MSc in Management, he was the Manager in the Marketing Department.

Rob continued his path in Marketing and joined Kajima Construction Services, where he was National Marketing Coordinator and Business Systems Analyst for more than 8 years, until the beginning of 2007 when he joined PwC.

Throughout his career, he has helped drive both small and large scale changes in the Pharmaceutical, Publishing, Big 4 Consulting, Engineering & Construction, and Financial Services industries. As a consultant, his passion is helping organizations realize the paradigm shift needed in how they handle change in order to succeed in the accelerated age.

Rob is certified in Strategic Foresight from the University of Houston and as a Change Practitioner from Prosci. He is a member of the Change Management Institute (CMI), Association of Professional Futurists, and was a recent board member and former president of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) NJ Chapter.

Rob is also a founding member of Change Agents Worldwide, a network of independent professionals specializing in the Future of Work, who share a passion for helping forward-thinking leaders shed industrial-age practices and adopt new and better ways of working for their organizations. He lives in Verona, NJ with his wife, and two kids.
