J.M. Porup

J.M. Porup is a journalist and futurologist who studies how exponentially-increasing innovation disrupts the social and political order. He has covered computer security for The Economist, bitcoin for Bitcoin Magazine, and the Gringo Trail for numerous Lonely Planet guidebooks.
 
Jens is also the CEO of LatAm Startups Angel Funds, a Latin America-based accelerator focused on scaling startups globally.
 
Previously Jens coauthored five guidebooks for Lonely Planet, including Colombia, Venezuela, and The Dominican Republic & Haiti. He is also the author of four novels and a short satire: Dreams Must Die, The United States of Air: a Satire, The Second Bat Guano War, Death on Taurus, and Food-Free at Last: How I Learned to Eat Air.
 
Jens earned his B.A. in Philosophy and ancient Greek from Northwestern University, and ever since has been heavily influenced by ancient thought.
