Dr. Hardik A. Gohel

Hardik A. Gohel, Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Applied Research Center of Florida International University. He is an academician and Cyber Security & Machine Learning Researcher

Hardik is leading the multimillion dollar Department of Defense (DOD)Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) project. The project includes hypervisor research with the purpose of improving cyberspace monitoring and analysis. This research is being conducted using virtualization technologies to deliver automated and real-time analysis of cyberspace attacks on distributed systems.

Hardik has eight years of experience in Computer Science and his research spans virtualization, machine learning, social media security, web security, and social engineering.

He is the leading author of more than 50 publications in technical journals and proceedings of national and international conferences.

Hardik has participated in more than ten technical workshops and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), has written three books, and one book chapter.

Prior to his current work, between 2015 and 2016, Hardik was Assistant Professor at Gujarat Technological University in Ahmedabad in India. He taught Cyber Security, Network Security, Information Security, Parallel Processing, Advance Operating System, and Computer Programming Utilization.

Hardik earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire in 2015. He earned his Master’s Degree of Science from Computer Science from Sardar Patel University in 2009.

After earning his MSc, Hardik became Assistant Professor at R.K. University, and at the end of 2012, became Secretary of the Computer Society of India where he worked for two years, before he went to pursue his Ph.D.

Hardik holds many licenses and certifications. Among others, he is Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), an FDP for Design Engineering, Network and Cloud Security by IEEE, Cyberoam Certified Network and Security Professional (CCNSP – NP), Wired & Wireless Networking using NS2 by IEEE Computer Society, and Data Analysis using R.

Hardik received 3 national awards and two international awards and has been invited to deliver keynote addresses and to chair sessions at many technical conferences. He received Best Paper Award in 2015 by the International Conference on E-Learning and Computer Software in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; the Academic Excellence Award in 2015 from the Computer Society of India; and Best Research Proposal Award in 2016 from Doc Conference 2016 ACM Udaipur Chapter, with the proposal titled Design & Analysis of Optimum Wireless Transmission Strategy on Rate Control Protocol.

He is a professional and life member of various technical bodies including IEEE, ISTE, CSTA-USA, Internet of Society NY chapter, IACSIT Singapore, IAENG, Computer Security Institute (CSI), and many more.
