David Shin

David Shin is Founder of CryptoMex.io and a Founding Member of the Bitcoin Association of HK (BAHK).
 
CryptoMex.io is a bitcoin based crowdfunding platform that allows companies seeking financing to raise capital through an IPO (initial public offering) process. Investors can crowdfund various bitcoin projects while being able to also buy and sell “profit units” of the various bitcoin based companies registered with CryptoMex.
 
The Bitcoin Association of Hong Kong’s goals are: Foster and promote bitcoin and its technology in Hong Kong. Educate all stakeholders, private and public, about the benefits and risks of bitcoin and its technology. Help facilitate an open, productive, egalitarian, safe, barrier-free, and transparent regulatory environment that reflects the values of the bitcoin protocol. Be a reliable, trusted, and accessible resource for the bitcoin community of Hong Kong. Be the voice of its members, whether individual or corporate.
 
Dave is also Director, Asia Head of Product Management, Prime Services, at a Large European Bank. He was previously Director – Institutional Equity Derivatives & Market Access Sales at Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong Limited, Director – Equity Derivatives & Convertible Bonds Business Manager at Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong Limited, Director – Equity Derivatives and Convertible Bonds Business Manager at Standard Chartered Bank Singapore Branch, VP Product Management – Equities Sales and Trading at Morgan Stanley Japan, AVP – Equity Derivatives Business Analysis at Lehman Brothers Japan, Project Lead/Business Analyst at The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited, Consultant at IBM Canada, and Senior Business Analyst at Manulife Financial.
 
Dave earned his CSC in Securities at the Canadian Securities Institute in 1999. He earned his BA in Economics at the University of Waterloo in 2000. He earned his CDI certification in Business Analysis at McMaster University in 2004. He earned his RR 2 in Securities at the Japanese Securities Dealer Association in 2007 and his LE Paper 1 in Securities at the Hong Kong Securities Institute in 2012.
