Christine J. Duhaime, B.A., J.D., CAMS

Christine J. Duhaime, B.A., J.D., CAMS practices in Canada and Hong Kong primarily in the areas of business law, regulatory law, and commercial litigation. She represents private companies, public corporations, gaming businesses, government agencies, and high net worth persons in a variety of business and commercial law matters, corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, debt financing, and litigation.
 
Christine has a broad range of legal experience, including contract drafting, resolution of business and shareholder disputes, regulatory registrations, permitting and approvals, hearings relating to various regulatory matters, securities law regulation, foreign corruption, compliance reviews, compliance plans, risk assessments in respect of corporate regulatory matters, and advising on corporate transactions.
 
She is one of the only lawyers in world practicing in the area of gambling and anti-money laundering law and has a specialized counter-terrorist financing and anti-money laundering practice. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, and advises casinos, gaming companies operating on mobile and online platforms, and reporting entities on compliance with gaming, sports betting, and anti-money laundering. She also advises in respect of money laundering risks in corporate finance and M&A, particularly transactions with a connection to emerging markets.
 
Christine was appointed to the Canada Advisory Board established by the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.
 
She was Adjunct Professor in international commercial arbitration law at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law and continues to teach lawyers at various legal education programs. While at law school, Christine won the gold medal in an international commercial arbitration moot competition.
 
Christine is frequently interviewed by US and Canadian media on developing business legal issues and writes business law articles frequently for various publications.
