Andra Keay, M.A.

Andra Keay, M.A. is Managing Director of Silicon Valley Robotics and Founder of Robot Launch Pad.
 
Silicon Valley Robotics is the leading non-profit robotics cluster. The process of commercializing innovation is at the heart of Silicon Valley Robotics. They take the best ecosystem practices from Silicon Valley’s history of innovation (transistors, computers, mobile, internet) and apply them to the emerging industries of robotics and AI. SVR partners with many global organizations to develop ecosystems, to teach innovation practices, to provide a landing pad for visiting companies, and to make connections with robotics and AI startups and investors.
 
Andra is Founder of Robot Launch’s Global Startup competition and a mentor, investor, and advisor to startups, accelerators, and think tanks. She has a strong interest in commercializing socially positive robotics and AI.
 
She cofounded Robohub, the global robotics research news site, building on her background in film, television and media production, and internet and computing technologies. She also cofounded Robot Garden, a robotics makerspace and teaches Interaction Design and Theory. Andra has a particular interest in understanding diversity and representation in robotics and AI and started the Women in Robotics community. She speaks regularly to international audiences on robotics/AI ethics, innovation, commercialization, and interaction.

Andra graduated in 1998 from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Communications in Film, Writing, and Cultural Theory. In 2011 she earned a Masters of Digital Cultures from the University of Sydney.
