Dr. Amavi Bada

Amavi Bada, DBA, is the Ambassador for Global Goodwill Ambassadors (GGA), the National Associations Management Executive Advisor for SOS Children’s Villages International, and Adjunct Professor for Groupe Institut Africain de Management 2 and BEM, a Professional Training & Coaching institution.

Amavi has years of experience working with NGOs around the world, that focus on helping children in poverty and other charity organizations.

He is the author of the book Marketing Strategies for Planned Usage of Solar Energy in Rural Togo. This correlational quantitative study aims to test the theory of diffusion of innovation in the context of the adoption of solar systems in rural communities in the West African country of Togo. One hundred households were selected in five regions throughout the country in the rural communities where there was no prior existence of solar source of energy.

He has been with SOS Children’s Villages International since 2017, a global federation working to protect and care for children who have lost parental care, or who are at risk of losing it. They work with communities, partners and states to ensure that the rights of all children, in every society, are fulfilled. Amavi is in charge of The Gambia, Cabo Verde, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Bissau Guinea.

Amavi is also a Visiting professor at EDC Paris Business School, where he is lecturing the course Starting Business in Africa, Master 2 Level.

Prior to SOS Children’s Villages, Amavi was for almost seven years the Vice President and Board of Directors for Little Smiles in Florida. Their mission is to help kids escape the reality of their unfortunate circumstances, even if it’s for a short period of time.

Between 2015 and 2017, he was the Regional Director for West and Central Africa at Positive Planet. Their primary objective is to develop economic, social, and environmental inclusion across the world in a fair and sustainable way.

He has more than 15 years of international experience in business, marketing, and management, in human resource development, agribusiness marketing, food security, and market linkages schemes

Previously Amavi was the Senior North, West, and Central Africa Strategic Partnership Officer for Mercy Corp in Ghana, Central African Republic, and Mongolia; the Regional Social Enterprise Development Manager for West Africa at Relief International in Ghana; Business Plan Specialist for Bean and Soybean Production at CNFA in Angola; a Volunteer Consultant (VolCon) Market Research on Farmers’ Organizations at TechnoServe in Nigeria; and Market and Buyer Standards Assessment at Winrock International in Mali.

He was part of the Gyapa Fuel-Efficient Cookstoves project from Gyapa Enterprises. Their business began as an improved cookstove project in Ghana in 2002. The Gyapa Enterprise cookstove program has grown into the largest locally produced cookstove industry and largest carbon financed cookstove project on the continent.

Before 2011, Amavi was in the technology sector working with NCR (Online Banking) as Industry Marketing Specialist for more than two years, with Hewlett Packard as European Strategic Outsourcing Marketing Assistant in Germany, as Financial Sales Representative at Western and Southern Financial Group in Toledo, US, and finally in 2001, he was Project Coordinator at ICNM in Salzburg, Austria.

Amavi earned his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in International Business in 2017 and his Master’s Degree of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business in 2006 from Argosy University.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Communication from Bowling Green State University in 2005. Before this, he also attended Universität Salzburg where he studied German and Sciences of Communication for two years until 2003. There he was Secretary and Scholar of the Afro-Asian Institute.

Amavis has been focusing more on developing countries and nations. Among them are Liberia, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Mali, Angola, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Central African Republic, Mongolia, Niger, Senegal, Indonesia, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, and Gabon. In addition, he gained working experience in the UK, Germany, France, Austria, and the USA.
